Brushed aluminum has a warm, friendly look to it as opposed to the sterile look you can get with polished aluminum. Getting that brushed look is a lot easier than most people think. All it takes is a bit of elbow grease.
Wash your aluminum piece with warm water and dish soap. Use a sponge to get the surface clean of all dirt and grease. Rinse thoroughly.
Wet the surface and scrub with a Scotch Brite scouring pad, scrubbing the same direction at all times. If there is a clear coat on your aluminum you will have to scrub all the way through it and continue scrubbing until the surface of your aluminum achieves the brushed appearance you are looking for.
Wash the item with running water and pat dry.
Apply a coat of beeswax. Rub it in thoroughly with a clean towel. Allow it to set for 10 minutes and then buff it with a clean towel. Apply a second coat of beeswax and buff once again.
