Not being able to get into a locker, drawer or cabinet can be a very aggravating situation. Before panicking or paying big money for a locksmith to unlock it for you, consider breaking the lock yourself. Ordinary combination or key locks, usually found around the home or in the office, can be opened easily when using scissors and the proper method.
Insert a pair of scissors into the hole of the lock as deeply as you can. The blades should be thin enough to fit into the whole of the lock. Instead of office or kitchen scissors, smaller scissors such manicuring or cuticle scissors are best suited for this procedure. Hold the scissors with firm but gentle pressure.
Turn the scissors counter clock wise, from left to right, once the scissors are deeply inserted into the lock.
Shift and move the scissors around until the lock is opened. It may take a few tries to successfully unlock the lock.
