One of the biggest challenges when it comes to the home is reducing our electricity use, especially as more people work remotely. But IKEA has released an item that might make things a little easier for eco-conscious design fans.

The Solvinden pendant lamp uses an LED bulb and a solar panel — which can help you save energy in the long run. You don't need any additional cords or plugs; the lamp uses one rechargeable battery. On a full charge, the lamp will stay lit for around 12 hours.

And according to the retailer, "the LED light bulb consumes up to 85% less energy and lasts 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs." It was designed for outdoor use and will turn on automatically when the sun sets. At $34.99, it's also a budget-friendly find.

Here's to finding creative ways to keep the planet in mind while we're at home.
