Leanne Ford, interior designer and co-host of HGTV's Restored by the Fords, is known for her warm and minimalist style that's as aesthetically pleasing as it is cozy. And now, she's officially bringing that style to the masses with a brand new Spring 2020 collection with Crate and Barrel.
The 109-piece collection includes fresh and modern furniture, bedding, and home decor that feature natural textures, including the Wonky Weave Baskets and layer-able pieces like the Plain Weave Sand Fringe Throw that are an absolute dream for minimalists. And when it comes to the color palette, you can expect nothing but neutrals, pops of black, and a whole lot of white, which is key for nailing Ford's aesthetic.
We know what you're thinking: Working with a white color scheme can be so anxiety-inducing, especially for the accident-prone, but according to the interior designer, "you don't have to be as careful as you think."
Let's take the Ever Slipcovered Sofa, for example. "We designed it to be like your favorite T-shirt. It's slouchy and relaxed, and the slipcovers can be thrown in the wash," Ford says in an interview with Crate and Barrel. "I say relax and enjoy the natural wear of things."
We also have to highlight all the versatile home decor items you can find in the new collection, which were designed to have the "right mix of beauty and purposefulness."
"They should have a use in the space, and if they can have more than one, then all the better," Ford says. "For instance, we designed the small bud vases to also live well as candlestick holders." We love a dual purpose prop.
