West Elm is taking it to the streets with their new Local Experiences. These sessions, which start at $130, invite shoppers to learn from local artists whose pieces are sold at West Elm stores as well as socialize and have fun. They're offered in Austin, Brooklyn, Charleston, Detroit, and Savannah this year, from April through May, with several dates available in each city. You can sign up here.
So what will your day with West Elm look like? Here's what's going down in Austin, Texas, for example: First, you'll weld with Jack Sanders at his metal work studio. Then, to end the day, you'll enjoy campfire happy hour and live music.
To celebrate the launch of West Elm Local Experiences, the company is offering a weekend getaway to Charleston in collaboration with West Elm artist Raven Roxanne and AFAR magazine. A bunch of fun activities and gifts are planned. You can enter the sweepstakes here.
The West Elm Local Experiences seem to us like they'd make a fun (splurgy) date, or offer a way to make friends in a new city. We wonder if others are planning to bring their home brands to life through shopper experiences outside of their brick-and-mortars, too.
