Laminated flooring is touted for its ease of care, but if you use the wrong cleaners on a laminate floor it can quickly dull the finish and leave the surface looking grubby and old. There are some standard procedures that need to be followed to clean and maintain laminate flooring. Understand the correct way to maintain this flooring, and you can remove dullness and restore your laminate's original sheen.
Vacuum or sweep the floor to remove all dust and debris.
Pour one cup white vinegar and one gallon hot water into a two gallon bucket.
Clean the floor with the vinegar-water solution, using a well-wrung-out sponge mop and overlapping the mop strokes to ensure even coverage.
Repeat the damp-mopping process with a fresh mixture of vinegar and water.
Buff the floor dry with a soft, lint-free cloth, using an overlapping circular motion. This will remove any streaks that may remain from the mop strokes.
