Experience
While working on an essay about soup dumplings, Christy discovered a love for writing about food and homemaking that brought her to House Digest. As a former news writer, she covered a wide variety of topics, including DIY projects, cleaning and organizational tips, home decor, and gardening hacks. One of her personal favorites was her article "Ditch the Wreath And Do This Instead To Create The Cutest Spring Door Decor." Previously, Christy was a reporter with a local newspaper in the Bronx, The Norwood News, where she learned to interview and write compelling stories. In 2019, she received second place for coverage of local government in the New York Press Association's Better Newspaper Contest, and in 2018 she was awarded a news story honorable mention.
Education
Christy earned a Bachelor of Arts from Sarah Lawrence College, where she studied fiction, nonfiction, journalism, poetry, and literature. She also completed a Master of Fine Arts degree in nonfiction writing and literature from Bennington College.
