Thrift store flips, Container gardening, Small-space organization
- Shelley single-handedly restored the original hardwood floors in her previous 1950s home to their former glory (and only had to fix paw prints of a curious kitty once).
- Her latest mission is to actually start some of the many projects she has saved on TikToks about thrift store flips, cleaning hacks, and DIY home makeovers.
- As a renter, Shelley loves finding ways to put her personal stamp on her home without making permanent changes.
Experience
Shelley's first taste of success as a writer happened in high school when she won an award in a local writing contest. She has dabbled in several fields through the course of her career, including insurance and software testing, but in 2008, she took a leap into the world of writing full-time. During that time, she has written thousands of pieces on a range of subjects before settling into the home improvement niche. You can find her work on several sites, including House Digest, Hunker, and eLocal. As a self-proclaimed homebody, she's particularly passionate about cost-effective decorating, gardening in small spaces, and making the home a cozy oasis.
