A Frigidaire Affinity clothes washer has a control panel display screen that helps you operate the washer. The control panel display simplifies setting an Affinity washer, which has a lot of wash options. The screen also displays an error code if something goes wrong with the Affinity washer. A repair technician will know what the codes mean, but that does not mean you should not know what each error code means.
Check the letter in front of the error code. All Affinity error codes start with "E," "EF" or "EB."
Identify the number code following the letter. "EB1," "EB2" and "EB3" signify voltage problems. "EF1" is a clogged drain. "EF2" means too much soap. "EBE" and "EBF" are console control problems. "EF5" means the hot water temperature is too high. All the others start with "E" and signify communication problems between the various parts of the washer, console control errors and, occasionally, failures within the machine.
Resolve the error. This could be replacing the control board, rewiring, or replacing a part on the washer. It is always best to consult or hire a professional when you want to repair an appliance.
