Whirlpool Duet Sport washers and dryers are a line of front-loading residential appliances. Whirlpool Duet Sport washing machines are energy efficient, and have an oversized tub for washing large loads of laundry. Both the washing machine and dryer are controlled by a digital control panel located at the top of the machines. If the control panel malfunctions, the machine will not start. If necessary, the control panel can be removed, and a new control panel can be installed.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet to cut the machine's power supply.
Remove the two hex screws located on the rear of the top panel.
Lift the top panel from the rear, then pull the panel off of the machine and set aside.
Release the two tabs on either side of the inside of the control panel. Pull the control panel away from the front of the machine.
Disconnect the control panel wire harness connected to the circuit board by lifting the tab then pulling the harness off. The control panel can now be completely removed from the machine.
