One of the joys of working on the Hunker editorial team is that just about every day, someone has a cool product, recipe, DIY, or hack to share. While we currently can't see each other in person (because COVID), we are online with each other all day long.

My favorite threads are those where someone shares a product that they love. These are my favorite threads because I believe in these people. They know things. Katie, our commerce editor, divulged the name of her favorite candle that she says is her best kept secret (I immediately bought two); Leo, our senior director, fell in love with this cult mattress; Gina, our audience development director, said that a $6 tortilla warmer has forever changed her weekly taco nights for the better; and Lowe, our SEO design editor, added spa-like vibes to her bathroom with an aromatherapy showerhead. (Also, don't get us started on candles. There's a bit of an obsession going on.)

Which brings us to our latest favorite find that we want to share with you: OXO Good Grips Salad Chopper & Bowl.

If you're like me, you're eating most of your meals at home these days. And while I could happily sit and read cookbooks just for fun, the actual cooking part can feel like a chore. There's a lot of prep that goes into making meals, especially if you're trying to eat healthy.

Thankfully, my older sister (who, like all older sisters, knows stuff), turned me on to this tool that has changed my salad-making game, because I do love a good salad. It's a big, sturdy, BPA-free plastic bowl with a separate chopper that looks like a pizza cutter, but with two blades. You throw your ingredients into the bowl and then run the chopper throughout, turning the bowl as you go, until everything is cut, diced, and sliced to your liking. It's fast and easy. I've also used it when I've need to chop up things like herbs for other recipes.

Sometimes it's the simple, sensible things that surprise me in their quiet genius.

Laurie Gunning Grossman, Hunker’s editorial director, caught the California boho minimalist bug. So, she bought a cream-colored couch. And she also lives with two kids and two dogs, so we’ll see how that decision pans out.
