When cleaning the glass doors on your fireplace, don't reach for the regular glass cleaner. Due to the carbon residue and stains that are left behind by fires, you need a cleaner that was designed specifically for glass fireplace doors. One option is to first scrub the glass with wet newspaper and wood ash to break down the carbon buildup, and then clean with a glass cleaner. But if no ash is available and the process seems far too messy, purchase a product designed to clean glass fireplace doors, such as Speedy White.
Allow the fireplace doors to cool before cleaning.
Clean one door at a time. Spray Speedy White directly on one glass door and spread the cleaner with a paper towel, moving in a circular motion.
After the window has been scrubbed, wipe off with a paper towel.
Repeat if heavy cleaning is necessary, until the glass door is clean and sparkling.
Clean the second door as described in Steps 2 through 4.
