The Dirt Devil Spot Scrubber is a handheld appliance designed to assist in the removal of stains and spills from carpets, floors and upholstery. The device's features include a 1.5 Amp motor, a four-inch wide nozzle and a rotating power brush. The Spot Scrubber functions by spreading a cleaning solution over a target area. Once the solution has had time to work on a spot or stain, the liquid is pulled up into a reservoir attached to the bottom of the device.
Step 1
Grip the handle attached to the device's solution reservoir. Push down on the locking latch located next to the reservoir, then push the handle forwards until the reservoir disengages. Lift the reservoir free of the device.

Step 2
Twist the reservoir's cap to the left until it comes free. Fill a measuring cup with ½ oz. of cleaning solution: Then pour the contents of the cup into the reservoir. Fill the remainder of the reservoir with hot tap water. Fit the cap back onto the reservoir and twist it to the right, until it locks into place.
Step 3
Fit the tabs on the bottom end of the reservoir into the slots on the front of the device. Push the reservoir backwards until it locks into place.
Step 4
Plug the power cord into a nearby electrical outlet. Locate the selector knob, on the left side of the Spot Scrubber. Turn the knob to the setting labeled "Vacuum." Set the power switch, located near the rear of the device, to the "On" position.
Step 5
Grip the handle on the reservoir. Move the front end of the device back and forth over the target area, to remove any excess liquid or debris. Apply the cleaning solution to the area, by pressing the button located next to the handle. Allow the solution to sit on the stain for two minutes before proceeding.
Step 6
Set the selector knob to the "Scrub" setting. Move the brushes back and forth over the target area. Continue to use the device in this manner until the target area is clean. Set the selector knob to the "Vacuum" setting. Move the device over the target area to remove the cleaning solution.
Step 7
Set the power switch to the "Off" position and unplug the device. Grip the handle on the reservoir and push down on the latch, located next to the water tank. Lift the device off of the water tank. Carry the water tank to a nearby drain and empty the contents. Reinstall the water tank.
