Latex gloves are, for the most part, intended to be for disposable, one-time usage. There are many occasions when washing and reusing latex gloves is entirely permissible, however. Crafters reuse gloves because they don't handle food products or anything that could be hazardous. Latex gloves used for routine household cleaning are also good candidates for washing and reusing. Washing latex gloves is an easy task and can save money.

Washing By Hand

Step 1

Fill a sink with warm water and add enough liquid dish soap to create suds.

Step 2

Turn the latex gloves right side out and place them into the water, holding them under to ensure the air works out and the gloves stay beneath the water's surface.

Step 3

Allow the gloves to soak for approximately 10 minutes, then rinse with fresh water.

Step 4

Hang over a dish rack or over two small glasses and allow to thoroughly air dry.

Step 5

Prevent damaging the latex by adding a few towels, or, as suggested by Lingerie Complete, put the latex in a wash bag, like those used for delicate lingerie.

Step 6

Set the washing machine on a gentle cycle in a cold water wash with liquid detergent in the amount recommended by the manufacturer for your load size. Wash the gloves.

Step 7

Hang the latex gloves to dry or air dry on a dish rack.
