You can kill ants with home remedies!

Finding methods to kill ants with home remedies is becoming more important as concerns are growing about using chemicals and poisons in our lives. The long terms affects are unknown and they can be costly. There are many alternatives available to use natural and organic solutions. I have found ants are one problem which can be killed without dangerous chemicals using different things from around the home. There are several natural and home remedies you can use to get rid of the ants without hurting the environment or your wallet.

Step 1

Remove food at the first sign of ants. Food is what normally attracts ants so be sure to clean up any crumbs and put food in containers with tight seals.

Step 2

Pour baby powder on the ant trail to get rid of the ants naturally. It seems they hate baby powder especially scented talcum. Sprinkle the baby powder on the ants and where they are coming in from. They will become upset and after a while, they will be gone.

Step 3

Ants do not like certain scents. Try using a squirt bottle with vinegar (plain or apple cider). Spray it where you have seen the ants and let it dry. It is non-toxic and the smell will go away in a few minutes. Other odors ants do not like are peppermint oil, cinnamon, black pepper, cayenne pepper, bay leaves.

Step 4

Borax is also a popular method of getting rid of ants. Borax is basically a laundry detergent. Mix equal parts of borax and sugar. Ants will carry the borax to their nest and this will kill them. Do not use this method in homes with pets or small children.

Step 5

If you can find where the ants are coming into the home, plug the holes with soap or glue.

Step 6

If all else fails, trace the ants to find their anthill and pour boiling water on the location of anthill. Pour as much as needed to kill the ants.

Do not use powder with cornstarch.
