Notifier Fire Alarm Troubleshooting

Notifier fire alarm panels connect to two or four loops of fire alarm detectors and modules and are compatible with laser sensors for early warning detection. The alarm panels have a set of logic instructions that coordinate which outputs (alarms) sound in respond to the input that enters the unit. Only those familiar with setting and operating a Notifier fire alarm panel should use the instrument and perform any troubleshooting steps that might be necessary if there are problems with the unit.

Step 1

Press "Silence Sounders" on the Notifier alarm control panel if the fire alarms are sounding in error. Push "Resound Sounders" if the alarms need to resume. Perform a reset only if the alarm cause has been resolved, in which case push the "Reset" button to return the panel to "Normal" mode.

Push "Reset" if the alarm panel buzzes every 12 seconds and flashes the "Pre-Alarm" light, yet there is no known source of an event.

Step 3

Touch "Accept" if a buzzer sounds and a "Fault" light illuminates. Wait for information to appear on the display about the fault then press "Reset" once the fault has been identified and resolved. Push "Silence Sounders" if the buzzer is sounding along with the "Fault" light.

Step 4

Reset the entire system if the alarm sounded in error or the fire condition has been resolved by pressing "Reset" to turn off the "Fire," "Pre-Alarm" and "Fault" lights and sounds. Press "Silence Sounders," if the "System Fault 40 -- Main CPU Watchdog Operated" message is displayed on the screen, to clear the error.
