Today's modern refrigerators do more than keep perishable food at a safe temperature, they also keep water from the house source flowing freely and frozen cubes dropping effortlessly from the ice maker. The water filters, displays and other mechanical parts of the hardworking appliance need attention from time to time to keep it running smoothly. If the refrigerator is beeping or offering signs of malfunction, then it may simply need to be reset.

Changing water filters regularly and resetting after each change can ensure that the Whirlpool continues to work well.
Reset After Changing Water Filter
Whirlpool suggests that the water filter should be changed at least every six months to keep the water tasting fresh and clean. Changing it out is a fairly easy endeavor. Whirlpool places its water filters either tucked into the grille at the base of the appliance or in the upper right corner of the interior of the fridge.
Locate the water filter and lift the plastic filter door. Throw the used water filter away after it is removed. Open the new filter, removing the protective coverings from the O-rings. Insert the new water filter gently into the housing and rotate it until the notches are properly aligned with the grooves.
Make sure the filter door is closed or it may cause the system to beep an alarm. Run a few gallons of water through the line so that the new filter is flushed properly. Reset the status by pressing and holding the water filter button for at least 3 seconds until it turns blue.
Resetting the Control Panel
Whirlpool refrigerator control panel reset is recommended if the refrigerator is beeping and not functioning properly. When the Whirlpool refrigerator reset button is not dealt with, it may cause more issues in the future. The main job of the beeping and flashing lights on a Whirlpool refrigerator is to alert the user that the appliance needs assistance.
Whirlpool Refrigerator Control Board Troubleshooting
It has a fun name, but it can be a serious problem. The Whirlpool refrigerator control board, also called the jazz board, is the main control device for the cooling appliance. It controls each part of the refrigerator's mechanical movements and alerts the user to issues before the problem can cause a shutdown or major breakdown.
Going through a list of Whirlpool refrigerator control board troubleshooting tips can help you solve common issues with the appliance. Open the refrigerator's door and look for the door switches. Press the door switches and the refrigerator temperature button three times within 10 seconds. After releasing the switches, there should be a letter "S" display in the freezer section and an "E" in the refrigerator's display.
Press the fridge temp button once to get to the service moved. A set of numbers should pop up and the freezer display should show the number "1," according to Appliance Assistant. If the refrigerator display goes blank after all that effort, then the Whirlpool appliance is back in good working order.
