She Turns Pool Noodles Into A Patio Flower Display With A Cute Dollar Tree DIY!

Skip those boring planters that all look the same. You don't need them when you can customize a planter to fit your backyard space perfectly. In this case, we're recreating an idea from the Lovely Moments Creating YouTube channel using pool noodles. Pool noodles can pretty much be turned into anything – chic home décor, outdoor yard features, you name it. In this case, the creator stacks three noodles curved into circles, covers them in fabric, and uses a Dollar Tree pizza pan as the bottom of the planter. You can customize yours easily with a trip to Dollar Tree to create a patio display that fits your style.

To keep the planter as inexpensive as possible, use items you already have. Dollar Tree sells Outdoor Fun Jumbo Noodles if you don't have any pool noodles you can use. Repurposing scrap fabric, an old curtain, or some other fabric material that doesn't drain water quickly would make this planter even more affordable. The low-cost and cute design could make this one of the best plant DIYs ever.

The original project calls for three pool noodles. Of course, you can adjust the depth of your planter by using more or less of the flexible foam tubes. You'll also need a pizza pan that's the same diameter as your rings to create the bottom of the planter — check the Dollar Tree kitchen section or thrift a round pan. You could use something similar, like a large plant saucer or trash can lid turned upside down. Grab tape to hold the rings together and glue to attach the fabric cover and any embellishments you want to add.

You may need to cut the noodles to a shorter length, depending on the diameter of the pizza pan you use. Next, stack the pool noodles and tape them together in multiple spots, following the curves of the pool noodles with the tape. You can use hot glue to connect them, but high-temperature hot glue can melt the foam, so use it with caution.

Choose fabric that can handle moisture well — the original creator used a tablecloth. There are options available in Dollar Tree's kitchen section as well. She wrapped the fabric around the outside and tucked it into the center. Cut off any excess fabric and use hot glue to attach the fabric to itself. It also helps to attach twine, thick cording, or a similar material around the grooves of the pool noodles. You get a more defined look without the fabric looking loose.
