Dollar Tree has long been the place to go for budget-friendly DIY and home organization supplies, whether you're looking for glass bottles to make a high-end-looking plant propagation wall or need to tidy up your bathroom. Thin, round, and made of tin, Dollar Tree's 16-inch pizza pans are a perennial favorite with DIY YouTubers and Instagrammers, who have transformed the baking sheets into everything from a plant stand to a bulletin board. Here's one more to add to the list: Turn a pair of pizza pans into a hanging storage tray.

YouTuber Unicorn Dust Designs took two pizza pans, sandwiched a beaded garland between them, spray-painted them all, and threaded nautical rope through three holes to create a charming, rustic tray. She hung the finished piece up by her craft room work area to display decor, a plant, and a candle. To make something similar, you'll need two pizza pans, a beaded garland or assortment of wood beads and thread, hot glue, a drill and drill bit, and something to use for hanging. You'll also want to have some spray paint at the ready to give the finished display tray a uniform look, and some Gorilla Glue or epoxy to hold it all together.

Build your own hanging storage display with Dollar Tree pizza pans

Putting together the storage tray is relatively simple, but does require some degree of attention as you glue the wooden beads or garland to the rim of the first pan. You want to push the beads close together, so there aren't any gaps between them. While you can use loose beads, Unicorn Dust Designs recommends threading them together before starting, so the beads don't roll away from you. Got leftover beads? Use them to make a super easy DIY trivet.

To get a better bond with the hot glue, rough up the surface of the pizza pan with sandpaper before applying the glue and beads. Once you've glued the beads all around the first pan's circumference, set the second pan on top, sandwiching the beads between the two rims. Use Gorilla Glue or similar to bond the two pans together. Then, spray paint the pans, drill three holes, and thread through jute rope or similar to hang the tray.

The beautiful thing about this Dollar Tree DIY and the numerous other ways to upcycle a Dollar Tree pizza pan is that it's infinitely customizable. Instead of using plain wood beads and spray-painting the finished storage tray white, pick colorful or seasonal beads, like the Jetec Christmas Wooden Beads, which are available in a range of wintery colors. Then, paint the pizza pans in corresponding or complementary hues before you attach everything together.
