Toilet brushes have an inherently unpleasant job, and to make matters worse, most of them are ugly too. But no one has to settle for an unsightly brush and holder. When it comes to the bathroom, it's possible to dress up or conceal the most utilitarian of items (including hidden toilet paper storage). And there are cleaning tools, like the Brabantia ReNew Toilet Brush and Holder, that are designed to be sleek and decorative.

At first glance, this doesn't look like a typical cheap toilet brush. Made of plastic and steel, it has an angular, streamlined design, with the holder making up most of the silhouette. It's minimalist and comes in a few color options, including black, white, steel, and gold. The design skews modern, so the metallic versions best suit contemporary bathrooms. However, the soft beige and warm gold colorways lean a bit more traditional. Beyond its looks, the holder also has a functional, easy-to-clean design.

From the front, it looks like this holder fully covers the brush. But turn it to the side, and you'll notice the back is open. This design promotes better airflow than an enclosed holder, so the brush can dry faster. Pick up the holder and tip it toward the back to dispose of any water that settles in the base. Even so, it's still a good idea to give the toilet brush and holder a deep clean about every week.

This distinctive design comes at a price, and this product costs more than some simple toilet brushes. You can buy it directly from Brabantia or from retailers like Wayfair and Amazon for around $40. The latter is the slightly cheaper option, though fewer colors are available.

On Amazon, this product is well-liked, with many saying it works well on top of looking nice. Over 1,000 shoppers left it a review, earning it a 4.6-star rating overall. One commenter explains, "[I] rarely write reviews and certainly did not expect to be writing one for a toilet brush, but this was an unexpected surprise. Cleaning is truly faster and easier. Attractive hidden design allows for leaving out even in a guest powder room. [I'm] very happy with the purchase and ordered 2 more." If you're in search of a new cleaning solution too, consider using DIY toilet cleaning tablets to give the brush more scrubbing power.
