For the ultimate trick-or-treating experience, you don't just need an epic candy stash — you need to fashion your porch with all things creepy, kooky, and spooky. One creator on Facebook understood the assignment, seizing the opportunity to create adorably ghoulish DIY Halloween decor with a purpose. While Kaycee Lynn Dycus might've left Dollar Tree with a few organizational items, she ultimately managed to transpose her shopping haul into a large ghost candy holder for October 31.

A welcome upgrade from the typical candy bowl, this pink girly ghost offers a unique way to store candy bars and sweet snacks when trick-or-treaters hit the town. Although there's no telling how long said sweets will last without supervision, the pink paranormal statement does come with perks: For one, it's a creative way to personalize your Halloween decor ideas and differentiate them from your neighbors' setup. And it's reassuring to know that those Dollar Tree items won't break the bank. Plus, the final product will do the difficult work for you by dishing out the candy to visitors in fun fashion or even serving other essential purposes on All Hollow's Eve. To get started, pick up three Dollar Tree Stacking Plastic Laundry Baskets ($1.50 each), a pool noodle, a paper tablecloth, black construction paper, ribbons, and a plastic candy tote.

Create a ghost candy holder with your Dollar Tree haul

Keep a glue gun, scissors, and a knife on hand to bring this Halloween ghost project to life ... or should we say afterlife? Start by adhering two of the laundry bins together by their top rims with your glue gun. Alternatively, you could loop several zip ties around the two rims to secure them together. Then, glue your third bin on top to complete the tower, making sure you can access the inside of the bin, as it'll be your candy bowl. Cut your pool noodle in half, and stick one piece into each side of the top laundry basket. These create the frame for the ghost's arms. Throw your tablecloth over the stacked baskets, trimming it to size if needed, and cut the ghost's mouth and eyes from construction paper or pieces of felt. After gluing the facial features to the table cloth, wrap up your design as any girly girl would: with a ribbon and a bag.

Now that you have the basics down pat, add your own twist to these Dollar Tree finds with different colored tablecloths to match a unique Halloween color scheme or additional decorative items. Perhaps your ghost would benefit from some sparkles, LED lights, or a handmade Halloween sign to hold? No matter what direction your creativity takes you, this DIY could also serve multiple purposes aside from storing sweets. Place a tray on top of the ghost, and you can use your paranormal pal to hold drinks or appetizers during your Halloween party (minding the weight, of course). That tray may also come in handy for housing fun (and lightweight) decorative accents or seasonal plants; this Dollar Tree ghost knows almost no bounds.
