9 Items IKEA Discontinued In 2026 (So Far)

If there is one company almost everyone can say they've bought something from, it's IKEA. This iconic Swedish brand offers uniquely styled, surprisingly practical products that can help organize your cabinets or create more space for guests in your cramped apartment. While IKEA is constantly updating and redesigning, every now and again it discontinues products to make room for new series. 2026, so far, has seen the discontinuation of some major series that won't be returning in 2027.

While the company announced discontinuations of some HEMNES and MALM pieces, as well as the complete SYMFONISK series earlier in the year, they are not the only products you won't be finding in your local IKEA store by the end of 2026. Whenever you see the words "Last Chance to Buy" on a product, IKEA is telling you that once the stock is sold, that's it. The item is gone. For 2026, this includes models of the iconic POÄNG armchair, GULLABERG bedroom furniture, and the UPPLAND loveseat.

While you can see for yourself just how extensive the Last Chance to Buy list actually is, we've assembled nine items that have either been already discontinued by IKEA, or will be gone for good by the end of the year. Don't fret when you read this. Though IKEA has done some major redesigns on the POÄNG chair, it's not about to give up on what is arguably the company's most iconic design. However, it can give up on a frame color, which is why the brown frame POÄNG armchair will be discontinued by the end of the year. The frame color line will be reduced to birch veneer, dark green, and walnut effect, which replaces the brown frame. It is currently available for $249.

While the GULLABERG line was introduced in 2024 as a replacement for the Malm and Hemnes series, IKEA will be doing some updates on the line going into 2027. Proof of this is the fact that the GULLABERG white bedroom set, which includes a full, queen, or king-sized bedframe, two single-drawer nightstands, and an eight-drawer dresser is labeled Last Chance to Buy. The gray sets remain available. The white color is being discontinued at a fairly reasonable price of $898-$1,028 for the entire set, depending on size.

The ASKHOLMEN line of outdoor furniture has been a staple of IKEA for well over a decade. Made from solid acacia wood sealed with acrylic stain, the furniture is designed for the outdoors, but can also be handsome indoors. While it's not gone yet, the ASKHOLMEN plant stand is in its Last Chance to Buy phase and will be discontinued as soon as the last of the stock is sold. For just $50, you could get yourself an attractive plant stand for your living room or porch without taking up too much space.

The HEMNES three-drawer desk is in its Last Chance to Buy phase, meaning it will likely be gone before the year is out. With a solid pine top and interchangeable drawers, the desk brings with it the simple, timeless design that made the HEMNES line so popular. It's currently available at $450, but it won't be for long.

While decidedly more plain in its styling than the HEMNES, the MALM series offered a striking geometric look that could work in a wide range of home styles. The MALM dressing table is one such example, and it's currently on Last Chance to Buy for $150. It's skinny, single-drawer design makes it perfect for holding makeup or jewelry, or even to double as a simple desk. It'll be sad to see this one go in 2027.

Unlike the other IKEA series being phased out by the end of the year, the SYMFONISK series of speakers was discontinued completely by IKEA in January 2026. The idea for the series was a collaboration between IKEA and Sonos to put Wi-Fi speakers into everyday items, such as table lamps, picture frames, and book cases, to bring music and sound into the house without the need for bulky speakers. The good news is that, even though the series is no longer sold, IKEA plans to continue to offer customer support for the items, including software updates.
