Experience

As a professional journalist, LD has worn many hats and covered a wide array of topics. Prior to his contributions in the home and garden sphere with Hunker, he worked as a staff music writer for The Stranger in Seattle, served as marketing Director for Almost There Records, and dabbled in documentary filmmaking. He also founded and published The Adios Lounge music blog, an endeavor that led to the publication of his book, "Don't Call It Nothing: The Lost History of '90s Roots, Rap & Rock 'n' Roll", which later inspired a podcast based on the book. LD also served as music director of Chico State's campus radio station, KCSC, which Spin Magazine recognized as one of the Top 5 College Radio Stations in America during his tenure.

Education

LD earned a master's degree in American studies from the University of Alabama. He previously received a bachelor's degree in communications and media studies from California State University, Chico.
