We're not big on blanket statements. Unless, that is, it's a statement you're making with a blanket.
::pause for groans::
What we're trying to say is that a beautiful blanket is a fine thing, but they're better when there's more to the story. Enter Anchal, a project founded by two sisters, which seeks to empower women who live in areas of extreme oppression. Anchal recruits female artisans in Ajmer, India to collaborate on their housewares and fashions, combining cool and fresh geometric aesthetics with traditional techniques.
These blankets from their "Narrative" collection especially caught our eye. Lightweight and reversible (gotta love a pop of color), they're ideal for pretty much anything: at the foot of the bed, guest rooms, couch cuddles, etc.
Other good things to note: They're made from organic cotton, come in two sizes, and each features the name of the artisan hand-stitched into the blanket. Which should help to remind you that the statement you're making is, in fact, very special.
