How to Clean a Frigidaire Refrigerator Coil

A Frigidaire refrigerator is a major appliance that would be costly to replace if it failed, so it is essential that you take the time to keep it maintained and in good working order. The coils under your Frigidaire refrigerator help to dissipate the heat that build when it operates; but if they are covered with dust or dirt, your refrigerator won't work as efficiently as it should. Cleaning the coils is something you should do often to keep your refrigerator in good working condition.

Clean your refrigerator coils.

Step 1

Unplug your Frigidaire refrigerator, or turn off the circuit breaker to disconnect the power.

Step 2

Pull off the toe grille (the plastic or metal horizontal piece that clips on at the bottom of your Frigidaire refrigerator).

Step 3

Look for the coils under the refrigerator. Take the coil brush and lightly dust off the coils.

Step 4

Vacuum the dust and dirt off the coil brush every so often as you pull it out while dusting.

Step 5

Put the crevice tool on the vacuum hose and insert it carefully under the refrigerator to vacuum up any dust and dirt under the coils.

Step 6

Vacuum the dust and dirt off the floor that accumulated during cleaning.

Step 7

Put the toe grille back in place and plug in your Frigidaire or turn the circuit breaker on.
