How to Get the Child Lock off a Bosch Dishwasher

The child lock function of your Bosch dishwasher prevents accidental program changes and stops children playing with the controls while the appliance is running. You might want to turn the lock off if it has been accidentally turned on. The controls of the dishwasher are disabled, preventing you from starting a new wash, while the child lock is running. The lock is simple to turn on and off, as necessary, in just a few seconds.

Step 1

Wait for the current wash cycle to finish and allow the Bosch dishwasher to return to standby mode.

Step 2

Find the control lock button on the control panel; the location varies between models. Look for a padlock or key icon printed near the button.

Step 3

Hold down the lock button for roughly four seconds until "CL" disappears off the display. The lock is now turned off. Hold the button again to reactivate the lock.
