If you shop at Costco, you've likely experienced that sinking feeling when a product is discontinued. This is especially disappointing when the item is a staple in your home. But not all hope is lost! According to shoppers, you can request specific items for possible restocking.

Per Eat This, Not That!, we came across a Reddit thread about the process. A user shared how they were able to get the Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Frozen Burgers back at their warehouse. To make it happen, they asked for the item by submitting feedback via the Costco app. (When you submit feedback, you also select your store, so the request will go to the appropriate warehouse.)

A few days later, the Reddit user received an email from the manager of their local Costco. The manager said he'd attempt to get the burgers back in stock and to check back in two weeks. Lo and behold, when the user next stopped by Costco, the frozen burgers were in stock.

Apparently, this is an alternative to the feedback forms that used to be by the exit door, according to some shoppers. Other users remember seeing such forms by the return counter. "They take those requests quite seriously and try to acquire the products," one person said. (BTW, those suggestion boxes are now replaced by a QR code, which allows you to send requests digitally.)

Of course, requesting an item doesn't automatically meant it will come back — or that it will stick around forever. The chances of a product returning is also higher if it's something Costco already sells.

Regardless, it's a useful tip, and a few people have shared success stories of using feedback forms. For example, as one person said: "I dropped a suggestion a few times to stop selling the apples in plastic clamshells and [I] was so happy when they switched to cardboard."

Another user noted, "I've put in several requests to the purchasing department and almost every time they come through. The last time, I expressed concerns with the charcoal they were selling. Sure enough, about a month later, a completely different (and better) brand [was in stock]. Costco is listening."

If you'd like to submit your own feedback, look for the QR code at your warehouse or visit the Costco website.
