How To Whiten Lace Clothing

1/4 cup baking soda

1 tablespoon laundry detergent

4 cups water

Pan/pot

Gloves and/or tongs
Warning
Do not use bleach on lace.
White lace can yellow over time while sitting in your drawer or closet. Clothing that is lace is especially likely to yellow around the neckline and underarms. You can refresh the items and whiten them up again, so they look as good as new.
Step 1
Mix a special solution of 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent, and 4 cups of water and mix in a large pot.
Step 2
Boil the mixture.
Step 3
Once it has reached a full boil, take the pot off the stove.
Step 4
Take your yellowed lace clothing item(s) and dip into the solution. Let is sit for at least 45 minutes.
Step 5
Remove from the solution with tongs and gloves. Do not squeeze or wring out the item.
Step 6
Put the item in a clean sink and let the water run over it until the water runs clear.
Step 7
Lay the item on a towel. Roll the towel to squeeze out the moisture. Spread out on a dry towel to dry.
