While wasps have their place in nature, the minute they buzz into the interior of your home, it's time to remove them. The best way to remove a wasp is to open a window or door and usher it outside. However, for those allergic to wasp stings and those with pets and children, that isn't always the most viable option.

Step 1

Cover all food and dishware with plastic wrap if the wasp or wasps are in the kitchen. If the wasps are in another room, cover sitting surfaces with a blanket or towel.

Step 2

Put your children and pets, if any, in another room to protect them from getting stung and from the spray you will use to kill the wasps. If you have a large number of wasps in your home, it is best to get your pets and children out of the house for several hours.

Step 3

Spray a wasp killer solution, found at your local supermarket or convenience store, onto the wasps. A powerful, store-bought wasp killing agent is best if you have a large infestation of wasps. Follow the directions as listed on the back of the agent you've purchased.

Step 4

Throw away the plastic wrap and wash all the towels or blankets used to protect your surfaces. Also wipe down any other exposed areas to prevent contaminating your hands and body.

Step 5

Clean up the dead wasps carefully with a dust pan and broom. Do not touch the wasps, because even after they are dead, their stingers can still sting. Put the dead wasps in a plastic bag, tie it and throw it away.

Step 6

Mix 1 Tbsp of dish soap with 2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Shake the bottle so the soap and water are fully mixed. Whenever you spot a wasp indoors, spray the solution on the wasp and wait 10 to 15 minutes for it to die. Clean it up with a broom and dust pan and discard.
