Emptying a pool without a pump is not as difficult as it may sound. It is possible to empty the pool in a very short time without scooping and dumping. You may need some assistance getting it started but once it is draining all you will have to do is sit back and wait.

Step 1

Place one end of a water hose in the pool. Push it down so it is near the bottom of the pool.

Step 2

Take the other end of the hose to where you want the water to drain. You can use more than one hose if you want to drain the pool faster.

Step 3

Siphon the water out of the pool by placing your mouth on the end of the hose and sucking repeatedly until water comes out. Spit the water out. Do not swallow it.

Step 4

Understand that once the water starts flowing, it will continue to do so until air enters the end of the hose that is in the pool. This way you are letting the natural laws of gravity and air displacement work to drain your pool.

Step 5

Check the hose or hoses often to make sure they are still flowing and that the end in the pool remains under the surface of the water.
