How to Mix Gold Paint

Gold paint is a popular color in design magazines and in homes. However, you are looking for a precise gold effect (metallic or not). So how do you mix gold paint on your own rather than getting store-bought gold paint? And how do you ensure you get the beautiful sheen you want without overdoing it? Here are some options for making gold paint by mixing other paints.

Mix black paint with white paint to make gray, and then mix the gray with yellow.
