If you have small children, you are aware of the fact that child-proofing your home is necessary to ensure their ongoing safety. Whirlpool Duet washing machines have locking control panels that prevent the washer from responding to pressed buttons, ensuring that the appliance cannot be accidentally turned on. When you are ready to resume use of the washer, you must first unlock the control panel.
Locate the "Control Lock/Unlock" button on your Duet's control panel.
Press and hold the "Control Lock/Unlock" button for three seconds.
Release the "Control Lock/Unlock" button when the control lock icon on the display disappears.
