How To Troubleshoot Kenmore Elite Dryer's Check Filter Blinking

Things Needed

  • Dishwashing liquid

  • Hot water

  • Soft brush

  • Towel

Kenmore Elite dryers have a large-capacity drum, sanitize cycle, moisture sensors, lowered initial heat, wrinkle guard cycle, steam refresh cycle and an LCD touch screen display that lets users scroll through available cycles and select the desired one. If the display has a "Check Filter" light blinking, some basic steps should be taken to resolve the issue and stop the light from flashing.

Step 1

Open the Kenmore Elite dryer door and pull up the lint filter screen in the bottom of the door to remove it.

Step 2

Set the filter in a sink and wash with warm, soapy water and a soft brush. This will remove lint, debris and any wax that might develop from the use of fabric softener sheets or products.

Step 3

Rinse the dryer filter thoroughly and dry completely with a towel.

Step 4

Slide the filter screen back into place in the dryer and verify that it is completely positioned in the dryer. Shut the door.

Step 5

Press "Pause" twice and make a new cycle selection after determining that the "Check Filter" light is no longer blinking.
