How To Remove The Display Panel On A Samsung French Door Refrigerator

Warning

Never work on any electrical components of an appliance until the power cord is unplugged or the circuit breaker is in the "Off" position.

If your display panel on your Samsung refrigerator is unlit or displaying erratic readings, it might be necessary to remove it for diagnosis or replacement. The Samsung display panel provides quick access for changing temperatures and ice cube size. It also alerts you when the doors have been left slightly open. Sometimes moisture causes the display panel to give errant readings. Removing the display panel on a Samsung French door refrigerator does not require disassembly of the door. The unit is designed to be removed through the front of the door panel.

Step 1

Unplug the Samsung refrigerator power cord from the wall outlet. Removing the display panel with the power on might result in accidental shock or damage to the display panel.

Step 2

Insert a small flat-head screwdriver into the slots on the bottom of the display panel. There are two slots on the bottom of the display panel. Twist the screwdriver handle to unlock the tabs securing the display panel to the door.

Step 3

Place the heel of one hand under the display panel and push up to release the panel from the door. Once the display panel releases, pull it away from the door enough that the wiring harness on the back is visible.

Step 4

Hold the display panel in one hand, and pull the wiring harness away with your free hand. The wiring harness is a simple pin harness and pulls right off the back of the panel.
