Don't forget to put the evaporator cover back on the machine. According to the Scotsman Ice Machine cleaner manual, it should take about 10 minutes for the cleaning solution to circulate.

After 10 minutes, you're going to push and release the Clean button. The Clean button light will turn on, and that means the rinsing process has begun. You must run the rinse cycle because it will flush out all of the Scotsman Ice Machine Cleaner from the water system. This rinsing cycle should last about 20 minutes. To descale the machine, the first thing you need to do is press and release the On/Off button. You'll know it is released because the machine button will blink for a minute, and then the entire unit will shut down. After the machine is off, you need to get rid of all of the ice from the bin.

Then you're going to remove the metal bar flush to bin wall. Afterwards, you need to remove the back panel. To do this, loosen the thumbscrews, lower the panel and remove it through the front. Locate the reservoir and push the tab to lift and remove the cover.

Once the cover is removed, you have to push the On/Off lever upwards to shut off the water. After the water is shut off, you're going to pull the drain plug to drain the system. Next, pour half of the 8-ounce bottle of Scotsman Ice Machine Cleaner into the reservoir.

Extra Descaling Steps

After you pour in the liquid, you need to press and hold both the On/Off and Clean Reset buttons for about five seconds. The auger motor will run for about 10 minutes, and then the compressor will turn back on. While the compressor is running, keep pouring in the remaining solution, maintaining the level at 1/2 full. The unit will continue to make ice, and the compressor will shut off after 40 minutes.

When you finish pouring in the solution, you're going to push down the On/Off lever to turn the water back on. When the cleaning cycle is finished, make sure the drain plug is secure and put the reservoir cover and back panel securely on.
