A GE dishwasher washes your plates, glasses, pots, pans and silverware and then dries and sanitizes them. Its washing programs include normal, deep-cleaning, anti-bacterial, china/crystal and plastics. If there is a problem with the dishwasher, or if you must cancel a dishwashing cycle in order to put in some additional dishes, it can be easily reset. There are different restart procedures to follow depending on whether you have a front-control or a top-control dishwasher.

Step 1

Press the "Start/Reset" pad on a front-control GE dishwasher to cancel the dishwashing cycle. The "Start/Reset" light will flash as the water pumps out, a process that takes about two minutes. When the light stops flashing, the dishwasher is reset and it can be restarted later.

Step 4

Close the door of the top-control dishwasher if the "Start/Restart" light is flashing and wait about two minutes for the water to pump out. The light will stop flashing when the dishwasher is reset, and it can be restarted at your convenience.
