As with other home appliances, you need to reset your Bosch dishwasher because of a problem, or to make a cycle change or to cancel a chosen cycle. The easiest way to interrupt a chosen cycle on most models is to hold the On-Off button for at least 10 seconds. This should stop complete operation.

The buttons for a Bosch dishwasher may sit atop the dishwasher door or be on the front panel of the door, depending on the model you have.

'Cancel Drain' Control Panels

Not all Bosch dishwashers require you to use the same cancel or reset buttons -- refer to your specific model's control panel or owner manual to determine which buttons cancel the cycle, effectively resetting it for use.

For other models look for the words Cancel Drain on the control panel with a dot placed under each button you must push simultaneously to cancel the cycle -- generally the buttons to the left and right of the middle button. Hold these two buttons down at the same time for about 3 seconds.

Pay attention to when the drain noise stops for the machine and the "Clean" light or LED indicates the cycle is complete. This resets the dishwasher completely by canceling the cycle you initially set for the dishwasher.

After the clean light indicates the cycle is reset, turn the dishwasher off.

Child Lock Buttons

Deactivate the Child Lock button before resetting the unit on Ascenta models equipped with this feature, if necessary. If the Child Lock Feature is engaged, an LED beneath the words Child Lock on the control panel is lit. When the child lock is engaged, you cannot work any of the other buttons on the unit. Press and hold the "<" button to engage or disengage this feature. When disengaged, no LED light appears beneath the words.
