Peppermint is a popular flavoring additive for items like gum and mints.

Peppermint oil, also known as Mentha x piperita, has many different uses; it's used for various holistic health remedies, to get rid of garden pests, and as an ingredient for topical lotions. This oil comes in capsule or liquid form. Mix peppermint oil with water to use for a spray bottle.

Step 1

Add 4 cups of water to a pot. Place the pot on the stove and heat the water. The water does not need to come to a boil.

Step 2

Add 1 to 2 drops of peppermint oil per cup of water in the pot. Leave the pot on the stove and stir the mixture for a couple of minutes.

Step 3

Remove the pot from the stovetop. Let it sit and cool for about 10 minutes. Use a funnel to pour the peppermint oil and water mixture into your spray bottle.
