Sleeping Over at FAO Schwarz Is Now Possible Thanks to Airbnb

Airbnb has teamed up with the iconic New York City toy store FAO Schwarz to make some holiday magic. On December 15 at 12 p.m. EST, the companies are allowing one NYC family of four to book A Night of Whimsy and Wonder at FAO Schwarz. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will be for a single overnight visit on December 21, just a few days before Christmas, for only $25. What a deal!

A toy soldier will greet the lucky family and provide them with a tour of the two-story, 20,000-square-foot toy store, where they will have plenty of toys, games, and puzzles they can enjoy for the night. Dinner, dessert, and breakfast will also be included in the FAO Schweetz dining area, which features wall-to-wall candy and a dining table surrounded by a toy train.

As for the living room, you can expect life-sized stuffed animals, a velvet sofa, faux fur rugs, a view of the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree, an electric fireplace, and the infamous Giant Dance On Piano. Don't worry — a music lesson will be provided on the piano, so you can easily pretend you're Tom Hanks in Big.

In the bedrooms, adults will be able to sleep in a giant sleigh bed, while kids will have a bunk bed complete with a slide (of course).

The entire experience also comes with a science experiment guided by an FAO Schwarz professor and a chance to build and race a remote-controlled car in the store's aisles. Plus, this family will receive a shopping credit so that they can bring their very own toys home.

Most importantly, FAO Schwarz will be following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's COVID-19 protocols. Using Airbnb's five-step enhanced cleaning process and handbook, the entire store will be cleaned prior to the family's arrival. The stay will be socially distanced and the toy soldier tour guide will be masked.

Due to safety concerns, the family of four must be from the same household. They must also be NYC residents with a valid government ID. If the stay must be cancelled due to the pandemic, the family will be offered a $1,000 Airbnb coupon and a store credit at FAO Schwarz.
