If you're not a fan of traditional holiday decor that showcases colors like red, green, silver, and gold, you're going to love this news. In partnership with artist Rochelle Porter of Rochelle Porter Design, the brand has released a black-and-white holiday collection featuring exclusive prints hand-designed by Porter herself.
"I'm thrilled about this partnership!" Porter says in a press release. "I've had pop-up shops at several West Elm stores over the years, and I'm always impressed by the company's welcoming culture and support of independent makers."
Known for taking inspiration from West African weavings, her Caribbean roots, and Scandinavian design, Porter's collection features lively patterns on tea towels, pillow covers, and table runners. It also utilizes sustainable materials and eco-friendly dyes, and was sewn and designed in Atlanta, where Porter is based.
This collaboration is also part of West Elm's commitment to the 15 Percent Pledge, which promotes retailers allocating 15% of their shelf space to Black-owned brands. So as you shop the collection below, know that you're also supporting inclusivity in the design space.
