The more we spend time indoors, the longer we wonder about the air quality inside our spaces. IKEA is calling one of its new releases for the month "the curtains with superpowers," which immediately piqued our interest.
The Gunrid air purifying curtains (57-by-98 inches) use a "mineral-based photocatalyst coating," as explained in a recent press release. Daylight activates this coating and it "breaks down common in door air pollutants." Pretty fancy.
"Gunrid is the first product to use the technology, but the development will give us opportunities for future applications on other textiles," Lena Pripp-Kovar, Head of Sustainability at Inter IKEA Group, said in a statement.
