We think the dishwasher is one of the greatest inventions around, but have you ever considered the ecological impact of those little detergent pods you pop in before you start the cycle? Sustainable cleaning product brand Blueland is challenging us all to think about the plastic we use in our cleaning supplies that ends up polluting the planet — including our dishwasher tablets.
Blueland has just launched what they're calling the world's first plastic-free detergent pods for dishwashers that won't clog up waterways with microplastics. In addition, the brand is debuting a new 100% biodegradable powder dish soap. According to Blueland, 14 billion pounds of trash are dumped into the ocean each year, some of which ends up inside our stomachs either through the water we drink or the fish that we eat. Think about that the next time you're at the store!
If you're interested in getting started with Blueland's new dishwasher products, they're officially available online today.
