One of the most well-known design duos just dropped a video announcement for all lovers of Waco. Standing in an old ballroom space and speaking to the viewers, Chip and Joanna Gaines seem excited and anxious. After Chip leaves and comes back dressed as a bellhop, the two finally reveal their news: They're opening a hotel.

Located just a few blocks from The Silos — Chip & Jo's complex featuring Magnolia Market and Garden, plus an upcoming coffee shop — the new hotel in Downtown Waco will expand the Magnolia empire. And it's a classic Fixer Upper project. The Waco Grand Karem Shrine Building sits at almost 35,000 square feet and first opened in 1928. The duo plans to "restore it back to its former glory," so we'll be curious to see what features they keep and what they completely redo.

Chip and Jo purchased the property back in July 2018 but didn't officially announced their plans for it until today. The video includes a few shots of the building's interior, and we can see why the couple would find it charming: There are brick walls, large windows, fireplaces, and vintage lighting fixtures.

The hospitality angle isn't new to the couple. Magnolia Stay currently offers vacation rentals for those making the trip to Waco. Options include the Carriage House, renovated in Season 3 of Fixer Upper, and the Magnolia House, also featured on the same season.

The new hotel will open in 2021 — plenty of time for diehard fans to plan the perfect farmhouse-themed trip.
