Planning a trip can be overwhelming — after all, so many places to go and so little time! If you're anything like us, your Pinterest board is probably loaded with cool gadgets, local-only spots for your morning coffee, and elegant Airbnb listings straight out of the pages of a design magazine.

But what to do with all of that information? If you're looking to streamline your spring and summer travel planning, Airbnb has partnered with Pinterest to share seven of the hottest travel trends for 2019. Behold, a whole new bucket list of cool places to see, things to do, and obviously, must-haves for your suitcase.

Getting back to your roots

In our tech-addicted world, more and more travelers are looking to unplug and get back to nature. Pinterest saw searches spike for "nature travel," which includes all sorts of wanderlust-inducing activities like forest bathing and sleeping in a yurt in France's Rhone-Alpes valley.

Out of this world experiences

While you can't exactly take a ride on SpaceX yet, searches for space travel still rose 70 percent from last year. In the meantime, fans of the celestial can satisfy their planetary urges by seeking out homes equipped with telescopes for star-gazing or taking a Hawaiian excursion with an award-winning astrophotographer.

Calling all thrill seekers!

Adventure travel saw exponential growth on Pinterest, with searches sky-rocketing 693 percent. So what are intrepid thrill-seekers searching for? Cave diving, abandoned amusement parks, and surprise destinations were all hot topics, although we're personally planning our next trip to this remote fisherman's cave house in Oia, Greece.

Who doesn't love a good bargain?

If planning your spring trips has you feeling "spring broke," Pinterest is a treasure-trove of affordable travel ideas. Searches for "budget travel" were up 64 percent, showcasing places like Busan, South Korea, and Ottawa, Canada, where Airbnb says its average booking price is less than $75 per night.

Thinking green

Sustainable travel has been at the forefront for years now, so it's no surprise that people are seeking out inspiration and products that go a bit easier on the world. From liquid-free shampoo to organic travel utensils, Pinterest saw searches increase 56 percent over last year.

Puppy-friendly pads

With more than 1.3 million pet-friendly listings on Airbnb, travelers have taken note. According to Pinterest, visitors are seeking out ideas for "dog-friendly vacations" and discovering incredible adventures and places to stay, like a historic carriage house in Denver.

From chilly winter to tropical chillin'

Not surprisingly, a frigid winter across much of the U.S. has many travelers seeking out warm retreats. Pinterest saw a dramatic increase in searches for "cold to warm travel outlets" as jetsetters plan jaunts to places like San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Santos, Brazil.
