If you're about to buy a full house worth of furniture, any kind of discount is welcome. And store credit cards are a great way to save on these major purchases. So the good news is that Ikea now has a Visa credit card offering 5 percent back in rewards on all Ikea purchases, Traemand kitchen installation, and TaskRabbit at-home assembly; 3 percent back on dining, grocery, and utility purchases; and 1 percent back on all other purchases made with the card. You can apply for the card here. Phew, now that's a lot of information.

There are some additional cardholder savings and bonuses to get excited about, too. These include $25 off your first Ikea purchase when you open and use your card, free standard shipping and delivery on in-store purchases, and a bonus $25 Ikea reward certificate when you make $500 in qualifying purchases outside of Ikea, Traeman, and TaskRabbit within the first 90 days of opening your account.

So why has it taken Ikea this long to come out with a credit card?

"We spent almost two years creating the new Ikea Visa credit card to ensure the program would support our mission by investing our profits back into value for the customer," said the chief operating officer at Ikea U.S. Jacqueline DeChamps.

So if you're looking to buy a fair amount of Ikea furniture in the near future, we'd suggest looking into the new Ikea Visa first if you want to save a couple of bucks.
