Take a Look Inside Makeup Mogul Bobbi Brown and Real Estate Developer Steven Plofker's New Hotel

In case you've blinked and missed it, Bobbi Brown has actually moved on from the makeup company bearing her name. Instead, she and her husband Steven Plofker have something new and entirely different up their sleeves: A 32-room boutique hotel with historic charm that will open this March. It's called The George Inn, and it stands proudly in Montclair, New Jersey, where Brown and Plofker live. Montclair is just 12 miles west of New York City — very convenient. Brown and Plofker's talents seem flawlessly matched in this venture: Brown has undeniable creative vision while Plofker has the experience and background in real estate necessary to pull it off.

But now let's get into the actual design of the beautiful space, shall we? It conserves and honors the building's stunning historical elements — it was built in 1902 as a private residence — while bringing in a modern touch with fresh colors and textures, too. The result feels anything but stale and creepy — promise. In fact, The George Inn is described as having a bespoke, worldly look, as it was inspired by Brown and Plofker's travels. It seems they were inspired by the U.K., in particular, with the Union Jack and plaid prints throughout. Also, pet lovers listen up: Your furry friends are welcome at The George Inn with a choice of beds and treats. How sweet! Note that an additional $50 charge will apply to bring them along.

As the creative director of the George Inn project, Brown decided to feature some of her favorite products in each room for each and every guest to test out. These include Casper mattresses, pillows, and sheets, Dyson Supersonic hair dryers, Nespresso coffee machines, One Kings Lane decor, and Smeg fridges in each kitchenette, just to name a few. So you just might leave the lifestyle hotel with a new must-have on your wishlist.

Lifestyle hotels have been a trend recently, with home decor mainstays such a Muji and West Elm dipping their toes into the water. And now we're even adding a makeup mogul to the mix. So this begs the question: Who will open up a lifestyle hotel next?
