Is Pottery Barn's New Apartment Collection a Sign of the Times?

If you feel like apartment square footage is shrinking, while prices are rising, then, well, you're right. The median home value in the U.S. has gone up by almost $50,000 between September 2012 and September 2017, according to Zillow, and doesn't show any signs of stopping, leading to a rise in rent prices, too. Plus, more U.S. households are renting than at any other point in 50 years, according to Pew Research Center.

For city dwellers trying to squeeze their furniture into increasingly tiny apartments (we're looking at you, L.A. and New York), the struggle is so real. Could apartment sizes shrinking and more people renting be why Pottery Barn and others are starting apartment-specific collections? We think yes. PB Apartment launched today, according to Domino, offering small space solutions most 20-somethings would drool over.

The new line seems to be an expansion on the small spaces collection Pottery Barn released at the beginning of 2017. Its pieces are multifunctional, small, and slightly more affordable than the regular Pottery Barn offerings. Check out some of the practical, yet stylish items below.
