Silicon Valley is supposed to be all about making the world a better place and Airbnb is making good on that mantra with its latest move. The home-sharing service is working with hosts who want to help people who have been displaced by Hurricane Harvey by offering free housing.

As The Washington Post reports, many hosts in the Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio metro areas have volunteered their Airbnbs for free for Hurricane Harvey evacuees. Airbnb is waiving its fees for these rentals as well, making them entirely free for the people who need them.

With Texas Gov. Greg Abbott urging residents in the affected areas to evacuate, even if a mandatory evacuation hasn't been issued, this could be life-changing (and potentially life-saving) for many residents in danger zones.

The free housing is available between now and Sept. 1. If you live in Austin, Dallas, or San Antonio and want to help, go to Airbnb's urgent accommodations page to volunteer your home for those in need.
