Sometimes nothing is tastier than an ice cold Coca-Cola. Should you spill it, however, you might regret drinking your beverage of choice. Because of the enzymes, coloring and ingredients in the soda, it often leaves an initial brown stain that can still remain brown around the edges when you wash it. Whether on your clothes, carpet or car seat material, quick work is important to make sure the stain does not have time to set and become permanent.
Make a mixture of a tbsp. of detergent and a pint of warm water.
Dampen a clean cloth with the mixture, and apply it to the stained area.
Rub the stain gently in a circular motion. Make sure you just go one way with your cleaning motions.
Continue the process until you can no longer see evidence of the stain.
Place a dry, white absorbent cloth over the wet area, and place a large book or something heavy on it. Leave it overnight to absorb any excess moisture or to draw up any remaining stain toward the top fibers.
Repeat as necessary until the stain is gone. If the stain does not respond to home treatment, consult a professional.
