Step 1

Moisten the water stain with a damp cloth. Place a 1/8-inch stack of paper towels directly over the stain.

Step 2

Weigh the paper towels down with some books or other heavy objects. Do not place the books directly on top of the stain, but around the stain.

Step 3

Plug in a hairdryer and put it on the coolest setting. Point the hairdryer directly at the water stain to transfer the moisture from the fabric to the paper towels.

Step 4

Remove the books and paper towels to check if the water stain is gone.

Step 5

Apply vinegar to the water stain if the stain still exists. Dampen a clean cloth with white vinegar; then dab a bit of the vinegar on a hidden area of the furniture to make sure the vinegar won't damage the fabric.

Step 6

Dab the vinegar onto the water stain, starting from the outside of the stain and working toward the middle. Keep the vinegar on the fabric for a couple of minutes and then rinse off the vinegar by dabbing the area with a damp cloth.

Step 7

Dry off the area thoroughly with a dry towel.
